There are two ROI figures. The [abandoned cart recovery calculator](/#calculator) on getrocketcart.com is an estimate built from numbers you enter. The plan progress card on your RocketCart **Dashboard** uses the revenue RocketCart has actually recovered for your store.

## How does the recovery calculator work?

You set four sliders. The calculator turns them into monthly figures.

| Slider | Range | Starts at |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Monthly store visitors | 1,000 to 100,000 | 33,000 |
| Current checkout conversion rate | 0.1% to 10% | 2.5% |
| Average order value | $10 to $500 | $85 |
| Estimated recovery rate | 1% to 30% | 12% |

It then works out:

1. **Orders** = visitors × conversion rate.
2. **Abandoned carts** = orders × 2.33. This assumes about 70% of carts are abandoned: if 30% of carts become orders, there are 2.33 abandoned carts for every order.
3. **Likely lost revenue / month** = abandoned carts × average order value.
4. **Recovered Revenue / Month** = lost revenue × your recovery rate.
5. **Recovered Orders** = abandoned carts × your recovery rate, rounded down.
6. **Break Even** = $29.99 (the Pro plan) ÷ average order value, rounded up. This is the number of recovered orders that pays for one month of Pro.
7. **ROI on Pro Plan** = (recovered revenue − $29.99) ÷ $29.99 × 100.

### A worked example

With 10,000 visitors, a 2.5% conversion rate, an $85 average order and a 12% recovery rate:

| Step | Result |
| --- | --- |
| Orders | 10,000 × 2.5% = 250 |
| Abandoned carts | 250 × 2.33 = 582 |
| Likely lost revenue | 582 × $85 = $49,470 |
| Recovered revenue | $49,470 × 12% = $5,936 |
| Break even | $29.99 ÷ $85 = 1 order |

Note

The calculator is an estimate, not a promise. The 70% abandonment and the 12% starting recovery rate are assumptions you can change. Your own results depend on your traffic, products and how many shoppers leave an email or phone number.

## What does the plan progress card show?

The card sits below the WhatsApp connection on your **Dashboard**. It uses revenue RocketCart recovered for your store, converted to US dollars.

![The plan progress card on the Free plan, with the $100 free limit bar](/docs-media/en/dashboard/plan-progress-free-800.webp)

**On the Free plan** the card is titled “Reach your first $100 free recovery limit” and says “You’re on the free recovery limit. Recovering $100 proves the value before you upgrade.” The bar shows your **Free recovery revenue** against the **$100 free limit**, with **Upgrade to continue recovery** at the end. **Continue recovery** opens Shopify’s plan page, where you can move to Pro.

**On the Pro plan** the card reads “Your Pro plan is recovering revenue” and compares recovered revenue with the $29.99 monthly price. Below the bar it shows either how much you are above your monthly plan cost, or how much is left to cover the plan this month.

Only recoveries where the shopper opened or clicked an email, or clicked a WhatsApp link, count toward these figures. More on plans in [Free and Pro plans](/docs/plans-and-billing/free-and-pro-plans/).
