You install RocketCart from the Shopify App Store. Shopify asks you to approve the app’s permissions and pick a plan, then the app opens on its Dashboard and connects your store by itself.

## How do I install RocketCart?

1. Open the [RocketCart listing on the Shopify App Store](https://apps.shopify.com/rocketcart).
2. Click the install button and log in to your store if Shopify asks.
3. Review the permissions RocketCart asks for and confirm the install.
4. On Shopify’s plan page, choose **Free**, or **Pro** with its 30-day free trial.
5. Wait for the RocketCart **Dashboard** to open inside your Shopify admin.

Tip

## What permissions does RocketCart ask for?

| Permission | Why RocketCart needs it |
| --- | --- |
| Read checkouts | To import your abandoned checkouts |
| Read customers | To reach shoppers and to build campaign audiences |
| Write orders | To tag orders that a recovery email won back |
| Read products | To show product names and photos in messages |
| Write discounts | To create the one-time discount code for the third recovery email, if you turn discounts on |
| Write files | To store your logo in your own Shopify Files |
| Write themes | To check whether the two app embeds (Campaign Tracking and Back in stock button) are on in your theme |

## What do I see after the install?

The app opens on the **Dashboard**. RocketCart connects your store in the background, and the first step of the **Setup guide**, **Connect your store**, ticks itself off. It also imports the abandoned checkouts from your last 7 days.

Under RocketCart in your Shopify admin menu you get **Recovery**, **Campaigns**, **Back in stock**, **Settings**, **Plans** and **Request a Feature**. Click **RocketCart** itself to get back to the **Dashboard**.

There is no cart tracking switch to turn on. Recovery emails start with the next hourly import.

Warning

On a Shopify development store, RocketCart sends no recovery emails or WhatsApp messages. The Dashboard shows a banner that says so. You can still try every screen.
