RocketCart sends WhatsApp messages from your own WhatsApp Business number. You connect it once, on the **Dashboard**, through Meta’s signup window. Until you do, RocketCart sends no WhatsApp messages at all; email recovery runs either way.

## What do I need?

- A Facebook login with access to your business on Meta, or the details to create one during signup.
- A phone number for WhatsApp. This can be a new number, or the number you already use in the WhatsApp Business app.

## How do I connect WhatsApp?

1. Open the RocketCart **Dashboard**.
2. In the **WhatsApp connection** card, click **Connect WhatsApp**.
3. A Facebook window opens. Log in.
4. Follow Meta’s steps to choose your business, your WhatsApp Business account and your phone number.
5. Finish Meta’s last step, then return to RocketCart.
6. Check the card. It now shows **ACTIVE** and “Ready to send recovery messages.”

If the window is closed early, the card shows “Embedded Signup was cancelled or did not complete”. Click **Connect WhatsApp** again. If it says “The Facebook SDK is still loading. Please try again.”, wait a moment and retry.

Tip

You can write and submit your messages before you connect. The card says it this way: “Design and submit templates now — they’ll go for review and start sending once connected.” See [WhatsApp recovery messages](/docs/recovery/whatsapp-recovery-messages/).

## What do the badges on the card mean?

| Badge | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| **ACTIVE** | Connected and sending |
| **OFF** | Connected, but you turned sending off. Recovery messages, campaigns and back in stock alerts are paused |
| **LIMITED** | Shown next to the other badge when sending from this number is limited. See [costs and limits](/docs/whatsapp/whatsapp-costs-and-limits/) |

## How do I pause or resume WhatsApp?

- To pause, click **Disconnect** on the card. It takes effect straight away, with no confirmation. The card shows **OFF** and “Turned off — messages are paused. Turn it back on to resume.”
- To resume, click **Turn on**.

**Disconnect** only pauses sending. Your number, your WhatsApp Business account and your messages stay connected, so **Turn on** brings everything back as it was.

Note

The card always shows “Meta bills you directly at standard rates, with no markup or per-message commission from RocketCart.” See [WhatsApp costs and limits](/docs/whatsapp/whatsapp-costs-and-limits/).

## Next step

Write your first message: [WhatsApp recovery messages](/docs/recovery/whatsapp-recovery-messages/). Then read how [message templates](/docs/whatsapp/message-templates/) get approved.
